PRESS RELEASE

Today, on July 16th, the Central Election Commission finalized the examination of all election complaints submitted by various political subjects. This examination stage was preceded by the completion of the tabulation of results for all Election Administration Zones in 12 regions. In this framework, the CEC drafted the aggregate tables of elections results for all regions and now it is waiting for the parties to further present their claims in the Electoral College.

According to the Electoral Code, the CEC must address the claims of the parties, within ten days from the submission of the complaint. Indeed, some 15 election claims were received for examination and examined within a very tight timeframe, within seven days, or an average of two election complaints per day. The efficient organization of work by the administration and the CEC management, made possible for the complaints to be examined not only within a satisfactory timeframe but also in detail. The finalization of this process within such a tight timeframe is without doubt due to significant improvements brought by the Electoral Code.

The end of this stage in the CEC allows for all the parties to file, within five days, their complaints to the Electoral College, which, on its part, shall address them within 10 days after they are filed. All the above elements make it possible for the CEC to certify the final election result  by the end of July.

In the meantime, the CEC not only has issued the results in the 12 regions, but also calculated the allocation of mandates within the coalitions and the number of mandates won by each coalition in the 6 regions. Thus the CEC, has allocated the mandates in the regions of Kukës, Korçë, Dibër, Elbasan, Gjirokastër, Vlorë.

So far, a total of 53 seats have been allocated numerically or nominally, or 40% of the total of the Parliament of Albania. All these detailed data are also available in the respective columns in our official website.
Below are the so-far overall results at the end of the complaint process in the CEC, on national level:
